Functions of the bureau

  1. Harmonization of existing Government policies and practices on public procurement to ensure probity, accountability and transparency in the procurement process.
  2. Ensure compliance by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) with the guidelines and procedures for procurement of Goods and Services.
  3. Consider, recommend and advise on policies to public procurement process.
  4. Ensure the application of fair competitive and transparent bids to ensure value for money, maintain standard in line with best practices.
  5. Establishment of pricing standard/bench marks monitor and evaluate all certified payments issued by the MDAs before any payment and to prevent fraudulent and unfair procurement.
